This route starts from Glen Lochy, near a small parking area off the A85. The ascent is steep and direct, following the forest edge and later tracking alongside Fionn Choire. While shorter, this route demands good fitness and navigation skills, especially in poor weather.

Ben Lui and Beinn a' Chleibh Circuit

Very Challenging

This route combines Ben Lui with its neighboring Munro, Beinn a' Chleibh, for a satisfying double summit day. Start from Glen Lochy, ascend Ben Lui via the steep eastern corrie, then traverse to Beinn a' Chleibh and descend through the forest tracks.

Dalrigh to Ben Lui via Central Gully

Technical

This adventurous route follows the same start as the Dalrigh Approach but ascends the Central Gully on the northeast face, offering a more technical climb. It’s a favorite for skilled walkers in winter conditions, with ice axe and crampons essential.

Tyndrum to Ben Lui Traverse

Challenging

Starting from Tyndrum, this longer traverse involves crossing Cononish Glen and ascending Ben Lui from the west. It offers a more gradual climb and is perfect for those wanting to explore the wider area before tackling the summit.
